The Cape Girardeau Historic Preservation Commission will be hosting a walking tour on Monday, May 9, 2022 in honor of Historic Preservation Month. The tour will feature the new City Hall at 44 North Lorimier Street, which includes the renovated Common Pleas Courthouse and the Carnegie Library. The tour will be led by Dr. Steven Hoffman, Professor and Historic Preservation Program Coordinator for Southeast Missouri State University and Director of the Bollinger Center for Regional History, with additional remarks on the history of the library by fellow professor Dr. Adam Criblez. The tour will begin at 5:30 p.m. at the north entrance near the fountain. Refreshments will be provided at the conclusion of the tour, courtesy of the Bollinger Center for Regional History.
