How This Works...
Please complete the form in its entirety along with the description (serial numbers, IMEI numbers, etc.) of property you are attempting to reclaim. In the event that a box does not pertain to you, simply mark it with "N/A". This information will aid the Evidence Unit in locating your property and will help eliminate any delays. Once the Property Recovery Form is complete, please return the form to the Cape Girardeau Police Department at which time it will be forwarded to our Evidence Unit. Once your request has been processed, you will receive a phone call notifying you that your property is available and a specific time will be arranged for pick-up.
Why a Property Recovery Form?
The
Property Recovery Form is used to ensure that your property is returned to the rightful owner in a timely fashion and at a time during the day that is convenient for you. By submitting the form ahead of time it will allow the Evidence Unit to process the claim and this can decrease the time you have to wait in the lobby of Police Headquarters and, in some cases, your property may be ready for pick-up upon your arrival.
What is Required to Pick Up Your Property?
A government-issued form of identification will be required when you report to Police Headquarters to claim your property. Please have one of the following forms of identification with you:
1. State Driver's License / State ID Card
2. Passport
3. Military ID
