How will I be notified when it’s my turn to schedule my vaccination appointment?
What is taking so long to receive my email to schedule my appointment?
You will receive an email or phone call to schedule your appointment when you qualify for vaccination according to the phases set forth by the state. View the phases here.
What do I do if I don’t have an email address for vaccine notifications?
With so many people to be vaccinated, the public is encouraged to sign-up for a free email address, seek assistance with using emails through social services or personal contacts, or to call their preferred vaccinator. Each vaccinator has a different system.
When will I get notified about scheduling a second vaccination? Do I get an appointment for the second shot when I receive the first dose?
Each vaccinator has a different system. You will receive a notification. Remember, the wait time between vaccines is at least 28 days after your first dose with Moderna and at least 21 days after your first dose with Pfizer. Therefore, it could be 2-3 weeks after your first appointment before you receive an update from certain providers. Most will provide a second dose appointment with the first dose.
Do I have to get the second dose at the same location as my first dose?
No. However, you must receive the same vaccine brand as you did for the first dose for the vaccine to be effective (ex: Pfizer or Moderna). Your vaccine card, received at your first appointment, lists which brand and lot number of the vaccine you received.
Is the second vaccine dose different from the first dose?
No. You’ll receive the same vaccine twice. Make sure you receive two doses of the same brand of vaccine (Moderna or Pfizer). Your vaccine card, received at your first appointment, lists which brand and lot number of the vaccine you received.
How much does the vaccine cost? What if I don’t have insurance?
The vaccination is provided free of charge. Health insurance is not required.
Why is it taking so long to receive an email to schedule my appointment?
Vaccine supply is currently limited. You will be contacted to schedule an appointment when you qualify for vaccination according to the phases set forth by the state. View the phases here. If I’ve already had COVID-19 should I get vaccinated?
Yes. We are seeing evidence of reinfection, so you should consider getting vaccinated.
Can you get this vaccine if you are in quarantine due to an exposure with a positive COVID-19 case?
You should delay your vaccination if you have had a known SARS-CoV-2 (virus that causes COVID-19) exposure until your quarantine period has ended, unless residing in a congregate setting (health care/long-term care facility, correctional facility, homeless shelter, etc.).
