Tuesday 8/8: Here. Literary Magazine Launch Party
Arts Council of Southeast Missouri


Come celebrate the release of Issue 03 of Here. Literary Magazine, the magazine where high school students from Southeast Missouri publish their writing and artwork! Attendees at the 6 - 7:30 p.m. launch party will be the first to see the published issue. Young writers will read their work that is published in the magazine, and the artists' art that is published in the magazine will be on display in the gallery. Hors d'oeuvres will also be served. The event is FREE but you have to grab a ticket here!

August 9-12, 2023


Thursday 8/10 at 3 p.m.: Wildlife Feeding Frenzy - Cape Nature Center
Discover the importance of Missouri reptiles and amphibians and see what it takes to keep our education animals happy and healthy. Bring your family and watch as we introduce and feed several different reptiles and amphibians. Free, registration not required.


Saturday, 8/12 - Off the Rails Concert Series - Carbondale
Joslyn & The Sweet Compression will be taking the stage for, Off the Rails on Saturday, August 12th! Ivas John Band will kick the night off starting at 7 p.m.

Saturday, 8/12: 10th Annual Nightfall Glowball Tournament
Participants will play 9 holes during the day and finish the last 9 holes in the dark by glow light. 4pm shotgun start. $300 per 4-person team | Golf cart, BBQ meal, glowballs and glow necklace are all included with entry fee. Bring your creativity and help the Library clean out their supply closet at 2p.m.! They will have the craft supplies and instructions for several crafts and a selection of mismatched craft supplies for you to make into anything you can imagine! Free, no registration required.

Wednesday, 8/16 at 7pm - Cape G Rocks Historic Porch Sessions will be Rockin the Porch with Jeremy Short and Ivas John
