Cape LaCroix Trail
The Cape LaCroix Recreation Trail allows citizens to walk, run, cycle, rollerblade, skate or skate board throughout Cape Girardeau on a paved surface. The trail provides a travel corridor from Shawnee Park through the City of Cape Girardeau to Osage Park. In 2014 a shaded outdoor fitness area "Fit Zone" was added to the Arena Park area of the trail. The FitZone, pictured above, features strength equipment to enhance your trail workout. This outdoor playground isn't just for kids! This FREE, outdoor fitness area includes 8 pieces of equipment for a full body strength workout at your convenience all year round!
The Parks & Recreation Department asks for your support in making everyone's visit to the Cape LaCroix Recreation Trail enjoyable. The City of Cape Girardeau is very fortunate to have a trail system such as this and we would encourage the people to use it or any of our other recreation facilities.
This project was made possible through funding from the City of Cape Girardeau and the State of Missouri. Construction of the trail commenced in 1993 and the final segment of the original planned trail completed in 2000.
