Fire at 2421 Albert Rasche Dr. - Feb. 5, 2019

The Cape Girardeau Fire Department responded to a report of a structure fire at 2421 Albert Rasche Dr. at 12:51 a.m. on Feb. 5, 2019.  Firefighters arrived on scene to find heavy smoke showing from the rear of the structure. The homeowner advised everyone was out and accounted for. The fire was well involved in the basement and the inside stairway was already burned through. crew advanced a line to the seat of the fire on the first floor kitchen. Additional crew were used to overhaul the first and a portion of the second floor. All occupants were able to escape the fire, but two pets were not. Fire crews were on scene approximately 4 hours. The fire has been ruled accidental.
