Honor Guard

The Cape Girardeau Fire Department Honor Guard was established in 2007 with support from the Department and Local 1084.  Without their support, we would not have been as successful as we are.  Both continue to support and believe in our mission and help us in any way possible.

The Honor Guard is comprised of members of various ranks who provide funeral honors for firefighters, both local and nationwide, that have fallen in the line of duty, as well as, firefighters who retired from the Cape Girardeau Fire Department.

Honor Guard members are responsible for presenting national, state and local colors at various services including Firefighters' Day at the State Capitol, memorial services in Kingdom City as part of the Firefighters Memorial Foundation, local parades, sporting events and various other ceremonies.

They also serve as members of the Pipes & Drums.  Members of the Pipes & Drums have performed at parades, banquets, fire memorials and funerals.

The CGFD Honor Guard drills monthly to prepare for services to which we may be called upon to perform.  We are fortunate to be welcomed into various local stadiums, funeral homes, churches and businesses, so that we are prepared to provide the utmost honor and respect to those we serve.
