Police Launch Crime-Free Multi-Housing Program
Posted on 10/15/2018
If you are an apartment owner or manager and are concerned about criminal activity and/or nuisances, and you’re wanting a more stable and satisfied long-term resident base, the Cape Girardeau Police Department is offering a unique, three-phase program designed for you! The Crime-Free Multi-Housing Program (CFMH) is a direct and solution-oriented crime prevention initiative designed specifically to help apartment owners, managers, residents, police and other agencies work together to keep illegal and nuisance activity off rental property.

The three phases in the program ensure that crime prevention is successfully attained. It is resident friendly yet effective in reducing crime in multi-unit apartment communities. Certified properties have shown about a 60 percent reduction in crime. This type of result is why the Police Department has adopted the program and offers it as a community service to rental property owners.

Phase I of this workshop will be held in the Community Room at the Police Department on Oct. 25, beginning at 6:00 p.m. Due to limited seating, please RSVP to Cpl. Richard Couch at 573-339-6621, Extension 1243 or [email protected].
